I know that it is so easy to get totally caugh up in social media and networking these days. It can be totally addictive as I am learning myself.
One thing I am trying to avoid is putting the same entries in all my online spaces, meaning I don't tweet abot the same things I put on my blog. And I try not to put the same htings on FB that go on the other two spaces. And the Green Gates website is an entity all on its own.
I don't know if that is the right way to use social media or not. I don't know if there is a "right" way but I want people to enjoy visiting all of the places I spend time, not just feel like each one is a slightly different version of the same daily stuff.

Have you looked on Facebook?
I am not one to jump on the flavor-of-the-day social media (My Space, Facebook, Twitter) but I'm not a technophobe either. I have been on Facebook for awhile now and I'm finally on Twitter. I don't know if it will have a profound effect on bringing me prospects or readers or viewers or whatever, but let me tell you what it has done for me.
It has made relationships. I have met more like-minded "creatives" in a short time on FB than I have met in 20 years outside of FB. They are out there and they, like you, are looking for connection. I know every business, artist and entrepreneur is on Facebook these days and many for the wrong reasons.
The reason should be to connect, plug-in to your community, to share, to inspire and to be inspired. it doesn't take much effort and like most good things, too much can be a bad thing.
I highly suggest it though. C'mon and join the discussion! We need your viewpoint!

Facebooking
I know I am late to the party, but after reading Gary Vaynerchuk's "Crush It", I have been delving deeper into the world of Facebook, You Tube and Twitter and I am amazed how deep the rabbit hole goes.
Just by looking around a little, I am finding a whole sea of people like me - artists, writers, creators all looking to share their worlds and vision.
It is really invigorating and a bit daunting. If you aren't using Facebook everyday, then you are missing out on some major opportunities to connect!
